A piece of Norwegian film history lands at Oslo Airport
The iconic Il Tempo Gigante has now parked at Oslo Airport, giving travellers a rare opportunity to experience one of the most beloved icons from the Flåklypa universe up close – right in the heart of Norway’s busiest airport.
In connection with the launch of the new feature film Flåklypa – From Paris to the Pyramids, the much-loved Flåklypa car is on display at Oslo Airport. This will be its only stop before the car takes up permanent residence at Hunderfossen Family Park.
- Displaying Il Tempo Gigante at Gardermoen is a dream come true. We simply couldn’t think of a better place to exhibit it. Hundreds of thousands of Norwegians will see the car during the exhibition period, and there is no other location where it could meet such a large audience, says Rebecca Padoin, producer of the film.
The hand-built car has been a crowd favourite for more than 40 years and continues to spark the same excitement among both young and old.
- We think of Il Tempo Gigante as part of the film’s celebrity line-up. People love Solan, Ludvig and Reodor, but it’s safe to say that the car is just as much of a star, Padoin adds.
A Showcase for Norwegian Culture
When Bauer Media Outdoor won the advertising rights for Norway’s four largest airports, the mission was clear: to create the most attractive brand arena in the Nordic region. Finn Espen Lønseth-Sageng, Head of Airport Media at Bauer Media Outdoor, believes this installation is a clear example of that ambition in action.
- It is an honour to host such a cultural treasure. We want the airport to be more than just a place you rush through – it should also be a window into Norwegian culture, history and creativity. We are proud to help give people one final opportunity to experience this remarkable car up close before it continues on to Hunderfossen, says Lønseth-Sageng.
A Stopover Worth Experiencing
From 13 November to 5 January, Il Tempo Gigante will be on display in the departure hall at Oslo Airport, surrounded by historic images and film clips that transport travellers straight into the Flåklypa universe. With the new film premiering in cinemas on Christmas Day, this exhibition offers a rare chance to experience a touch of the magic ahead of the highly anticipated holiday release.
The installation highlights how out-of-home environments can be used to showcase Norwegian cultural heritage and create moments that both surprise and engage audiences.
