The Norwegian Football Federation and Bauer Media Outdoor are joining forces to be present where the World Cup celebration is happening – out among the people.
The FIFA World Cup is underway, and football fever has truly taken hold across Norway. Friends, families, and colleagues are gathering at big-screen events, bars, and public meeting places throughout the country to follow the national team’s journey through the tournament. Even though the World Cup is being played in the United States, the celebrations will be felt just as strongly at home. That is why the Norwegian Football Federation and Bauer Media Outdoor are partnering to be present wherever people come together to experience the biggest moments.
– The greatest sporting moments are often the ones we experience together. With the World Cup taking place in the United States, public viewing events and gathering places across Norway become an important part of the national celebration. We want to be present where supporters come together and help build engagement and excitement around the national team throughout the tournament, says Anne-Lise Johnsen Robb, Head of Marketing and Growth at the Norwegian Football Federation.
Through the partnership, the Norwegian Football Federation will have a visible presence in public spaces across the country before, during, and after the tournament, with messaging designed to build anticipation, pride, and a sense of community around the national team.
– Now that our men’s national team is finally back in a World Cup, we hope people of all ages across the country can take part in this national celebration. At the same time, we have an opportunity to highlight the Norwegian football model, grassroots football, and our strong volunteer culture. We want to show that this team belongs to all of football-loving Norway and represents the entire country. Our partnership with Bauer Media gives us that visibility and allows us to share our messages on screens across Norway, which is naturally very valuable to us, says Johnsen Robb.
Where the celebration happens
For Bauer Media Outdoor, the partnership is about being present when the whole country comes together to support the national team.
Bauer Media Outdoor CEO Dennis Højland Nyegaard believes the World Cup is a strong example of how the out-of-home channel accompanies people through everyday moments.
– When Norway plays in the World Cup, people gather in public squares, restaurants, workplaces, and meeting places all across the country. These are exactly the moments when out-of-home media is at its most relevant. We are present where people move, meet, and connect, which makes this a particularly strong partnership, says Nyegaard.
Throughout the tournament, the Norwegian Football Federation will be visible across Bauer Media Outdoor’s network nationwide, with messages tailored to different phases of the World Cup. The aim is to be part of the celebration from start to finish—from the anticipation building before kick-off, to the defining moments on the pitch, and the memories that live on long after the final whistle.
– Even though the matches are being played on the other side of the Atlantic, the tournament will be felt strongly here at home. When an entire country follows the same matches and talks about the same moments, it creates a unique energy in public spaces. These are exactly the moments that demonstrate how important physical meeting places still are for community, engagement, and shared experiences, says Nyegaard.
